PLANNER PAGE
Students are required to have their planners with them everyday at school. Each of your child’s core teachers will have specific assignments and/or homework
information posted for your child to record in their planner each day. A well kept planner will lead to greater organization and academic success. Please check and
sign your child’s planner each day to verify you are aware of their assignments, whether their assignments have been completed, and their progress. To keep
parents informed, teachers will circle missing/ incomplete assignments, or indicate failure to record information by drawing a rectangle around the assignment.
If a student has earned consequences for breaking a classroom rule, their teacher
will write the details at the bottom of the planner page, and the student is required
to attain a parent signature after school that day.
Consequences for not bringing their planner to class:
1st offense: 2 days lunch detention
2nd offense: ACP for the day
3rd: office referral
You may also use the planner to write a note to any of your child’s teachers. Please remind your child that it is his/her responsibility to present the note to the teacher at the beginning of class, and then retrieve the planner at the end of class (by which time, the teacher will have responded).

Slide show/diagram of planner details is below!
Point Breakdown
Students will earn approximately 100 points each week for completing their planner correctly. Students will earn 60 points for writing the correct information in each box
(2 points each for correctly completed box) in their planner for each class.
Each box must have the following:
C: (This stands for class work OR what student did in class. Takes up on line only)
H: (This stands for homework and takes up 2 or 3 lines)
The next 40 points is given for parent signatures (8 points each signature). It is very important for parents to write their signature (not their initials), and be consistent. This will help the Success teacher monitor each student's planner to ensure parents are aware of their child's work load, and any teacher/parent communication that is initiated.
Labels Students Need To Write Weekly:
The last three boxes in the planner, for each day, should be labeled the following (label consistent with the core class labels that came already printed in the planner):
SUCCESS
P.E./EXPLORE OR EXPLORE (Dependent if P.E. has students use planner)
COMMUNICATION
Write first and last name at the top of the Mon.-Wed. page of each week above the rectangle/"This Week."
If student is absent, the student is required to write "ABSENT" above each day student is absent (see picture below). Student is required to retrieve the information to be written in the planner the first day he/she is back at school.
Homework/Due Dates (planner boxes):
If a class’s daily box is circled by the teacher, it means the student did not turn in their work to the teacher.
If a class’s daily box has been outlined by the teacher with a rectangle, it means the student failed to write ALL the information correctly in that space. Students must accurately write the exact planner information each teacher provides. If the teacher doesn’t provide planner information to be written that day, the student is to write, “No Homework.” For each box that is blank , incomplete, or has incorrect information (rectangle drawn around box), the student will lose one point out of 50 points that can be earned each week for their planner performance.
If a teacher has drawn a rectangle outline AND has circled a class’s daily box that indicates the student didn’t turn in their work AND information in the box wasn’t there or was inaccurate. A circle will not affect the planner grade, but will likely indicate a late penalty when that assignment is turned in.
Parent Signature
The line below the “AFTER SCHOOL” label and above the small clock icons, located at the bottom of the page, is where the parent is supposed to provide a complete signature in pen. It would be helpful if one parent could always sign, but if that’s a hardship then more than one parent can sign the planner. The parent signature component of the planner is worth 20 points out of 50 weekly points possible. If a teacher writes a note to the parent OR the student writes a note to the parent, the parent MUST provide a signature for that specific day to be shown to the teacher the following school day.
